I watched the Drip/Austin game. Austin High ran the score up on themselves in the first half. 3 turnovers inside their own 35 (all fumbled handoffs or snaps with no pressure from Drip). They also went for a 4th & 12 from their side of the field and ran a fake punt that went for no gain. The one time they moved the ball, they ended up tossing a ball up in the air to no one that was intercepted in the end zone. 77-0 is impressive. But in the full context, any good team would have rolled Austin that night.
Bowie struggling with Anderson is a head-scratcher for most people. It was the complete opposite of the Drip/Austin game. Bowie dominated that game for the most part. 77 plays run to 45 for Anderson. But every time Bowie was poised to pull away, Anderson would score in 1 play (long KO return, long pass vs. busted coverage, etc). It was frustrating to watch. I can only imagine how frustrating it was for the team.
I'm hoping for a great game. Would love to pull out a win, but we'll see. Y'all are right that Drip has that Vandy game under their belt and that should help them.
By the way, keep your eye on Vista Ridge. They're getting things turned around. If they get in along with Manor, Vandy goes D1.
In this episode, we lost Justin's audio early on and we didn't realize it until editing, so we had to splice it without his great commentary, but we'll get him back in the fold next week!
